This painting's title is based on the pavement stones - calcadas - which the pavements are made from in Portugal. The marina in Lagos is the location, and the influences are Moorish design, the marina with its boats, and the calcadas represented by the coloured squares around the borders of the painting. The text which is made from stencils, is from the words of the boat trips selling SEA SAFARIS.
