Artwork description:

"La dualité" is mixed technique: combination of linocut and linogravure. A unique graphic print I made in 2006. I used 4 colors (well 3 + black). Back than, I was tremendously in love with the work of German Bauhaus artist Oskar Schlemmer. I still remember that discovery and how fascinated I was by his ballet dancers! :) And I was also into drawing imaginary buildings, for quite some time, so this two came together.
The technique - linocut, gives an excellent opportunity for creating flat, clean color surfaces. Linocut, on the other hand, gives more accent to details like lines and dots.
So I made 2 panels, one made in linocut technique, that one I used for primer layer, with 3 colors (violet, blue and gray). Second - linogravure, for a black-line drawing, which makes impression of duality, was printed as second layer, on top of the primer.
