King Alfred’s Forest
Through ancient lands,
To the forest,
Breathing in the pines,
Listening to the birds,
A radiance of light,
Touching my soul.
My words and feelings of being in the forest of light.
I seek the pines which are part of the ancient forest that leads up to King Alfred’s Tower on the Stourhead Estate in Wiltshire.I have a terrible allergy which drains me every day where I wake up sneezing and I have to go to the coast or places where I can breath in cleaner air.
Places that make me feel good are so important to me as an artist.I created this original watercolour on rough textured watercolour paper , using a wet in wet technique and dropping colours on the horizontal line to create an ethereal effect .I then scraped across the paper with my feelings of irritation in my nose and then a release of tipping the paint so it overlaps each colour .
