In the 1940’s, Richard Evans Schultes visited the Valley Sibundoy in southern Colombia where he took some historic photos of Kametsa medicine people. My honor painting, which was inspired by several of his portraits, depicts two Kametsa against a background hedge of Culebra borachera, a potent psychoactive solanaceous plant that is endemic to the Sibundoy Valley.
