I painted this scene on location in the Medway Valley in Kent on the morning of June 19th, which started hot and sunny but the clouds came in from the west. The rape seed in the next field is ripening whilst next to me was the barley field, I love the shapes the barley makes in the wind! It is a palette knife oil painting on MDF and shows ripening cornfields and gathering clouds in the distance. The painting is mounted on a white background in a light wood frame.
