This original painting depicts two tall chickory stems, framed by blue and white lupins. In ancient Egypt, chicory was said to bring success and make one invulnerable. It was also once believed that chicory was able to make people invisible and also when pressed against a lock the lock would open. Anointing your body with chicory oil was said to attract good people who would grant you favours.
This painting was painted using high quality Ara acrylic paints, on a Loxley Gold canvas. It was painted using splatter and impasto paint techniques. It is finished with marble inks, and silver leaf highlights.
The canvas is strung with picture wire at the back.
