This is from my Ashdown Forest series of paintings. The Ashdown Forest has many large expanses of scrubland, with dry grasses, gorse, bracken and heather. It's a perfect space for ramblers and Sunday walks. In this painting I wanted to bring out the walker's path, the marks made on the ground through hundreds of people following and enjoying the same path. It's painted in acrylics and had a layer of gold paint to add to the richness of colour.
