Original artwork description:

This is a portrait of the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. It is the third of a series that I am doing on african-american singers from Georgia. Okay, James was actually born in South Carolina but moved to Georgia when a young child so we claim him.
We have all heard stories of people who have overcome difficulties in their life to achieve tremendous success. I don't think that there are any who have had to jump so many hurdles in their life but have overcome to achieve greatness.
If you are interested, read about James in Wikipedia..... fascinating.

JAMES B. is a one of a kind, original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint on 5 mil archival grade mylar. I have stayed with my usual pallet of warm “earthy” colors. For this work, the sheet music for "I Feel Good" was enlarged, printed and laminated to the mylar. the portrait was then painted with acrylic paint and india ink. The mylar does not have to be stretched like canvas or watercolor paper. It is easy to mount on any type of board: plywood, masonite, foamboard, etc. I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell. You can see these instructions at the “me at work” section of my shop. I include a hanging strip and a drywall hanging device. Everything that you need to mount your painting except the board.

The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
