Limited edition of 20
The chalk cliffs of Mön (Denmark) are 140 m high. Seen from this height the horizon is 40 km away. In this photo, an almost closed cloud cover stretched to the horizon. The sun only shone through a few cloud holes and produced the bright stripes. I had never noticed before that the stripe on the horizon is reddish. It is due to the height of the position and thus the great distance of the horizon. Over the 40 km, the reflected white sunlight loses its blue component due to Rayleigh scattering and appears reddish as in the sunset.
Buyers receive the illustrated book (The Colors of the Sea and the Poetry of Physics ") free of charge, in which the colors of the sea are simply explained using 50 photos.
