This is the Indian Elephant and is sketched from one that lives in London zoo. It is etched on to steel to give the rugged quality of elephant skin. It is made using a soft ground and some aquatint. It can hang with my African animal series if desired as the aspect ratio, ink colour and paper quality are the same.
Materials used:
Steel plate with wax resin. Oil based printmakers ink. Cotton Rag paper.
