Original artwork description:

In the buttercup meadow
Early June has begun,
The ethereal light,
Over the Blackmore vale,
North Dorset chalk hills in the far distance,
Seeing all this beauty from Udders farm shop cafe.

Words and feelings of my experiences in early Summer.
Original unframed watercolour painting inspired by the sky, view and the meadow.
I wet the paper all over and applied pale yellow and hint of pale peach tones for the first washes. Then with my sable hair brush I created the cloud effects. I love atmospheric and moody sky's and you certainly get that a lot with our English weather.
I used a filbert brush to press and dab the green shades on for the tree lines. Same for the buttercups finding different ways of using my brush to create the expressive shapes of the buttercups.
All the paintings are signed, titled and dated on the back. Signed on the front.

Materials used:

Extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 425gsm 200lb, filbert brush, sable hair brush, Windsor and Newton watercolours,
