Artwork description:

There is a somewhat unreal appearance this photograph of a staircase in the deep woods. Is going it leading up or down? Why is it there? Is it even really there?

Hand printed by the artist with a slight warm tone, on beautiful, 16x20 inch fine art paper, image size of 12x18. Number 1 of a limited series of 20. Signed and numbered on the front.

About the artist:

Robert Tolchin is an artist who is as comfortable under the red glow of his darkroom safelight as he is in front of his computer monitor. A second generation photographer, classically trained in the photo program of Columbia College Chicago, Tolchin's work ranges from traditional, beautiful black and white figurative nudes to conceptual, digital images conceived in his imagination. His work is exhibited widely and is in personal and corporate collections in North America and Europe. Working from his studio north of Chicago he is available for fine art and portrait commissions.
