This watercolor stars my great grandmother's antique pin, and the blue jewel in the center is a button that popped off a jacket of mine. The pin features clusters of aurora borealis gems that sparkle with near-psychedelic colors, and it took an age to paint. Sometimes I simply want to challenge myself!
