The Supermoon captured on November 14th 2016 just above the Derbyshire Peak District, UK. There are a lot of statistics about this event so here are some from a reliable source - NASA: The moon is at it's perigee or closest point to Earth and is the brightest and biggest in 69 years with the next similar event taking place in 2034. This moon appeared 14% bigger and up to 30% brighter in the sky.

What does all this mean? Well to me it provided me with a great opportunity to capture some outstanding detail which I was able to do using some great equipment. I used a 300mm lens at f11 on a 2x teleconvertor on my Nikon D810. The level of detail captured is mesmerising for those into skygazing. I've captured many other full moon images but nothing with this level of detail.

Artwork is signed and numbered by the artist on the rear of the print in pencil (unless printed by 3rd party lab). The date and image title is also included.
