As part of the "Wonders of Haloze" painting collection, this painting shows the beauty of a quite simple hilly area of Slovenia, named Haloze. Haloze is located very near my home and practically is my home. I especially love this particular scene and have painted variations of it a few times before. The two paintings with cows on it are from this same scene, just from a different perspective! Cows often pasture around here because this area is not that populated and most people living here are old people producing their own milk, eggs and of course vegetables. They are very independent of the outside world and most still do everything by hand. Those hills are also rich with vineyards, producing some of the best vines in Slovenia and also in Europe.

Painted on acid-free sanded pastel paper with professional quality pastels, ensuring the painting stays the same for many decades.
