This is a big and bold print, hand printed on a Vandercook SP!5, using a large and highly detailed antique-engraving of a horse accompanied with outlined wooden poster type (maker unknown), over a bright almost neon orange-red colour blocking. The engraved plate was manufactured by the type foundry; L. Johnson& Co Philadelphia, USA, and dates to between 1840-1867, so it is the best part of 170years old. - Hooksmith Press
