Original artwork description:

A rubber duck, invented in the late 1800 as bathing or chewing toy has obtained an iconic status in Western culture:
The yellow rubber duck with which most people are familiar since childhood has become a famous racer. In North America, Europe and Australia numerous rubber duck races also known as derby duck races, have been held and used as a method of fundraising for organizations worldwide.
World´s largest Rubber Duck was created by a Dutch artist in 2007 measuring over 16 metres tall and weighing about 600 kilograms.
In 2013, the rubber duck was inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame, a museum in Rochester, New York, along with the game of chess.
Inspired by the popularity of the ubiquitous rubber duck and the artistic legacy of one of my favourite surrealist artist Rene Magritte I have depicted the yellow duck embedded by the most recognisable attributes of the Magritte´s work: The hat and the inscription “Ceci n´est pas une pipe” - transformed into “Ceci n´est was un canard” (This is not a duck).
