Surreal pop art painting of a beautiful model crying with golden tears. Inspired by painting of Gustav Klimt and Anne-Marie Zilbermann.
This painting is reperesented the joy of feeling real and strong love. Hence, it captures the duality of weeping – that tears can be both for joy and sorrow, and either are as valuable as gold.
Also the idea for this artwork has its roots in Northern mythology especially the myth about goddess Frejya. Freyja married a god called Óðr. She loves her husband deeply, but he often went away on long journeys, and Freyja cried red golden tears for him. Her tears become gold and amber when they fall to Earth, therefore gold was called "Freyja's tears".
