The latest of the ‘Cluster’ series is a study of a concentration of Monarch butterflies printed gold on 300gsm Sirio Pearl Aurum Gold on a gold leaf background.
The 7.5cm deep 3D cluster depicts 250+ individually profile cut butterflies, folded, edges inked in metallic gold ink, antennae fixed and pinned at various heights on a gold leaf treated backboard. Capturing a scene that evokes life, energy, and a play on light, tonal colour changes and texture.
