Words and inspiration of my memories of past places on holiday in South Cornwall.
Original impressionistic watercolour on textured cold pressed bockingford 300gsm 140lb.
I penciled out the flower design and then wet around the lilies and leaves to create the background. I was very expressive with my sable hair brush and leaving areas of white. I used a three colour technique. I naturally left the white paper for the lilies and added shadow markings on the petals to bring them out. I added more depth of colour around the structural leaves and flowers. I absolutely love these beautiful gems and so striking on a Summers day or in the evening light.
