I have admired the bird paintings of the 19th c Painter, Martin Johnson Heade for many years. I wanted to pay homage to his love of nature and expeditions to Brazil to discover and document birds and the Amazon forests. My painting was inspired after Heade's painting "Black-eared Fairy" that is the collection of the Crystal Bridges Museum of America Art in Arkansas, USA.
