Sir Giles Gilbert Scott designed this prototype k2 version in a competition. This wooden telephone box looks magnificent at the entrance to the Royal Academy with the beautiful wrought iron gates and is so iconic of London.
I made this photopolymer etching with a single exposure onto a light sensitive plate, developed it until it has raised areas as all the darks had washed out. After post exposure I inked up the plate using various relief rolls and intaglio methods before running it through an etching press.
This original print goes well with Gateway call as a pair.
Photopolymer, paper and printmaking ink.
