Original artwork description:
Gannets wheel and dive on herring on the South side of Hirta, the main island in the St Kilda group and a pair of artic skua wait to rob them as they return to the surface. A full SE gale puts up a heavy sea which reflects back of the cliff face and makes Village Bay, just round the corner, an inappropriate anchorage.
Materials used:
Primarily oils with some acrylic underpainting.
