I have always been intrigued by paintings of night scenes, so I started working on a series of night paintings of my own. Two nights ago I went horseback riding in the woods in the moonlight. The glow of the full moon through the leafless trees was intensely inspiring. I just completed this one this afternoon (May 4,2015) and it's not dry yet, but I am excited to show it because I'm pleased with it. It is a challenging painting to photograph, so I'm posting a couple of different views so you can get the idea. When this piece is dry, it will be mounted on a 1 inch thick pine brace so it will be ready to hang.
