One in a series of large scale oil paintings depicting roses from the gardens at Kew.
Visiting Kew in mid-summer, I found the rose gardens in full bloom. The visual impact is always intoxicating, but only lasts for a few weeks. With this painting I wanted to capture forever this amazing, transient beauty at a scale that reflected the breathtaking impact of these flowers. The shapes of the petals in particular became a focus of this painting, and how the composition flowed across them.
At 1.2m x 1m in size, this painting makes a huge visual impact in any room, and will be a fantastic centrepiece to any art collection.
