In a cloudless sky, the earth releases a lot of energy during the night due to heat radiation (IR radiation). Their temperature and that of the lower air layers decreases. The relative humidity increases until it exceeds 100%. In the early morning fog forms. As soon as the sun heats the soil and air, the fog dissolves again. The most beautiful moment is when the yellowish or reddish light of the rising sun breaks through the fog.
Fog bathes the landscape in pastel colors. They arise because the tiny mist droplets scatter light into the eye from all directions. This light covers the colors with a white haze.
