This fluorescent landscape series pulls inspiration from the beauty of a landscape while being powerfully affected (even overtaken) by an architectural form. The landscape is always serene and alluring, painted with black and white with fluorescent acrylic paint. The abstracted architectural form is collaged on top - acting as a barrier between the viewer and the landscape. We want to access and enjoy more of the landscape than we can, but the black obstruction stops us. And while the geometric structure is also pleasing in its own way, it changes our perception of the land itself.
