On the remote Isle of Skye off the West Coast of Scotland the Autumn and Winter colours are soft shades of grey and yellow. The late grasses and bracken provide a wonderful contrast to the mist descending over the mountains. On a trip back on a misty day late in Autumn I came across these two little cottages quietly tucked in against the Cuillin mountain ridge. In these hills the last Scottish clan battles on Skye were fought in 1601 between the Clan MacDonald and the Clan MacLeod. In this mist one can almost hear the shouts and cries as the tartan clad armies came down from the hills. Now it is peaceful and calm, a place of history and long lost memories. This is a place that excites the imagination. Who lives here I ask myself. Some long departed loved one may one day find their way home, back to where the heart belongs.
