‘Fermata’ is a musical term meaning to stay a little longer. This small painting deserves a little longer gaze from the viewer to begin to see the many colours and layers providing remnants of their colour and shapes in the finished surface. ‘Fermata’ is part of a musically themed series of paintings. It is made using cold wax and oil paint. The wax adds texture and translucency and in this painting I have been able to score into it. The painting comes framed in a grey-white box frame and is ready to hang.
