Original artwork description:
This painting is one of many eyes I painted from 2003 through to 2006 before returning to portraits. These allowed me to explore the qualities of paint through using my eyes as a motif to hang the paint on. Through these I explored colour, form, shape, marks, brushstrokes and observation.
Over the years I developed these into a wide range of eye series' before gradually moving back to portraiture from November 2006.
