Gabriel says that he awoke one morning to realise that everything was great. He could've put on his glasses and realised that some vacuuming was in order, but for the time being he appreciated the blurry contentment in which he found himself. Perhaps there's a lesson there? Maybe everything is great? Just don't look too closely.
