We ought to, at any given time, enjoy the view, not just forge ahead but stop and breathe and take in our successes! I hope this print serves as a kind little reminder to lift your eyes and look around!
on rainy Sundays I love to play around with collagraphs and mono prints, my "Enjoy the View" is a collagraph, but I only print a few, if that, of each version, that is, I vary them so much, that many of them become mono prints, all part of the fun for me! I tend to at most make 4 - 5 prints from the collagraph, as their purpose is to be very creative and not as process bound as my etchings and linocuts.
My collagraph plate is made on a base of cardboard, I add tape, glue, and filler, scratch and cut lines, let the plate dry and then I shellack it so it takes the ink nicely.
I have printed my collagraph monoprint on heavy weight Handmade paper from India, so called Khadi paper, it has the most gorgeous green color, olive, but not drab, rather quite soft and joyous! I have printed with a soft palette of oilbased etching inks.
I have signed the print on the front, and numbered it 1/1, collagraph.
The papersize is 16" x 23" (40 cm x 58 cm)
and the actual image size is 11.5" x 15" (29 cm x 38cm )
it fits very nicely in a standard frame, but should really be floated in a frame, something you need a custom framer for! That way you can see the beautiful deckled edge all round.
I ship from my studio in Denmark, wrapped so arrives safely, just say if you would like gift wrap!
Thanks, for looking in my shop, and welcome back.
