This painting is based on a very special crystal that a crystal hunter friend in Australia found, here is his description:
One of the most amazing elestial amethyst crystals I've seen from Australia, forming as a secondary growth on milky quartz (on the back side of this piece) and has a beautiful colour zoning from smoky quartz at the base into amethyst at the tips with internal air pockets filled with orange clay.
