I love all things Indian, the patterns, the colours, the sparkle, the sheer multitude and overwhelmingness ( yeah, I know that's not a word ;o) of the impressions, so my elephant is also totally over decorated!
a handprinted copper plate etching. This copper plate is cut out, I have used a plasma cutter to cut the shape of the elephant and it makes a wonderful emboss impression in the paper. Each print is inked up by me, the artist. I have added a technique called aquatint to this copper plate, which gives rich deep tones of the colour it is printed in, in this case a really vibrant happy blue, representing the brightness of colours you see in India. If you would like to see me make and print an etching, go to the "me at work" section.
The size of the actual image (the copperplate)
is 12.5" x 10" ( 32cm x 25cm)
I have printed my Elephant on a beautiful piece of white velvety printmaking paper, with Charbonnel etching inks, the best quality you can get.
Paper size: 16" x 13" (40cm x 34cm)
The etching is signed and numbered in an Edition of 50 prints.
Please note you might not receive the number in the photo.
I mail your etching from my studio in Denmark with many years experience in packing my art, see my reviews, so it arrives safely.
