A small oil sketch from Edale in the Peak District.( Number 3 of 4 )There's so much to delight the eye in the Derbyshire Peak District. I could paint a thousand pictures and there never would be two the same.
This painting is an oil painting on canvas paper in a pale ivory mount.
Dimensions (9" x 7") 23 x 17.5 cm in mount. (6" x 4") 15 x 10 cm (actual image size)
What inspires me is the distant hills, the way they change colour the further away they get, and the wide open sky. I like the flatness and green of the valley too. But above all I love the sense of freedom.
The tones are rich earthy colours contrasting with the green of the grass.
Shipped safely in a reinforced envelope.
