Artist's description:

I was up in Waterloo by 6.30am one weekend to sketch and capture early morning summer in London. This oil study has been worked up from that session. The tide was low and it was a beautiful peaceful morning. The sun was heavily reflecting off the very still river and the whole city seem to be sitting in an early morning 'blue'.
I have used the oil paint quite thickly across the different textures of the clouds/ buildings/ water.
This was painted on a linen canvas and is framed in a wide moulded frame in dark grey to bring out the blue tones of the painting.
