Original artwork description:

Pastel painting ‘Dream of Spix’s Macaw’ is a part of my art project ‘Extinction of Species’ and it reflects the surreal wish of the last bird remained in the wild to have its own family and offsprings. That can hardly come true due to extinction of spix’s macaw population, that’s why the desired partner and the chicks appear in the painting as ghosts.

Awards and exhibitions:

- 2nd place 'AMERICAN ART AWARDS 2020' in category Impressionism,
- title image for online exhibition 'Wild Nature' by National Pastel Society of Russia /August 2020/

The artwork is mounted and framed into the plastic panel imitating wood texture, under the glass.

Materials used:

soft pastel, pastel pencils
