In the area of North Devon, where I live, we are very close to the river estuaries of Taw and Torridge and beyond that the sea. This piece of work is a memory or emotional response to those places. We have amazing sunsets and the sea can be so blue, not all the time of course, so this is artistic licence to some extent. The sea often crops up in my work, its beauty and power is burned into my memory, inevitably.
