Artwork description:

“The natural world meets the digital landscape.”

I’ve always loved Orchids… they are one of my favourite flowers because of their structural nature… they look ‘designed’ and other-worldly. It was a natural progression for me to push this designed nature to it’s limits – juxtaposing and complementing the natural forms with a colourful interplay of organic and digital aesthetics.

Life is constantly holding up mirrors to our experience – I intentionally use symmetry to accentuate different aspects of the whole, creating different designs from the same starting point within a series. By reflecting different parts the entire feeling of the image changes.

The symbolism in this process of shifting perspective and reinvention holds a lot of importance for me, and I hope inspires others to look and then look again.

Materials used:

Giclee print on sustainable 300gsm Hahnemuhle Bamboo fine art paper, using lightfast archival inks to the highest museum quality standards.
