Lovely hellebores in a monochrome colour black. This image has a pensive perspective.

I have hellebores in my garden and I find them fascinating to look at. This is a monotype monoprint which is when the ink has been rolled and wiped onto a smooth surface and then run through a printing press. All the ink is removed from the plate making it very difficult to repeat the image so the prints are one of a kind.
They are difficult to make as it can take most of the day to wipe and re apply the ink until one is satisfied.

oil based printmaking inks on White Somerset paper
