The inspiration for this linocut was dahlias from Pollok Park in Glasgow. I am a regular visitor to this park and love to see them at different times of the day. I love to observe them in the rain in the morning and in the soft warm sunset. I appreciate dahlias very much for their vivid colours, size and rich variety of petals. Dahlias provide me with endless artistic inspiration.
This linocut is black and white and has an interesting repeating arrangement of petals that leads our eyes to an interesting mesmerizing center where you can find a tiny heart.
The linocut has been handcarved in a linoleum and handprinted in my studio using acid free somerset satin paper and Cranfield Caligo safe wash black ink.
Somerset Satin 300 GSM cotton paper of highest quality, smooth saft satin surface paper, Cranfield Caligo safe wash black ink
