Original artwork description:

I was taken by the dark red and magenta hues of these alder catkins. Their colour contrasts perfectly with the cheerful brightness of daffodils, so I placed them together in my favourite stoneware vase.

'Daffodils and Alder Catkins' is an oil painting on a Winsor and Newton canvas board. It is unframed but can be displayed effectively as it is, propped on a shelf or mantlepiece as illustrated. It measures25.4 x 20.3 cm so will fit an off the shelf frame.

Materials used:

oil paint
