The image of columbine, Aquilegia Vulgaris 'Nora Barlow', was taken from a private garden in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. I loved the shape and movement created by the ornamental flower heads, and the brilliance of colour amongst the lush density of the foliage behind it.
Materials used:
Canvas stretched over a wooden strainer, water-based primer, oil paints and a museum-grade varnish.
