I created these drawing as a bit of fun and an exercise using a large brush and ink to make marks with limited control. These were then developed further, using a dip pen and Indian and acrylic inks, into images of comical French fashionista's with their pet dogs! Comical and tongue in cheek they make an endearing set of cartoons.
Original pen and ink drawings completed in April 2018, using cartridge paper, Indian ink, plus pencil and washes. the drawings are lively and expressive with line variations created by the use of a variety of traditional dip pens, this gives the Artwork a fresh and immediate style where my 'working out' can be seen and enjoyed.
This painting is A5 and appears approx. 14cm X 19.5cm in the mount. It will be sent to you matted (mounted) in an 8" X 10" (approx 20 x 25cm) off white mount as shown.
My simple ink drawings remain the backbone of my work and I will always return to them as they are often the basis and the inspiration for new work and ideas.
Materials used:
300gsm watercolour paper, Artists quality watercolour paints and Indian ink
