Original artwork description:

This painting illustrates a paradox called the modern city. It has many apartments, skyscrapers, cars, fancy food, and all the luxury in the world. Yet there are fellow human beings for whom basic necessities are too much to ask. To them its a parade of cars, suits and white collars, with all its cacophony.
Then there are the middle-class people, people who toil hard enough to make sure an affluent lifestyle. They own a roof over their head for sure, but sometimes too busy working to spend an entire day under it. Home is supposed to be a place of refuge, a place of comfort, and a place to share and care. Has the word lost its meaning nowadays? Because even when they come home, they stare at the digital screens of phones and computers and get lost in the virtual world of self-satisfaction and validation. Is this progress? Is this what we call civilization?
So, where are we heading?
The painting won Juror's choice award and award of excellence.
