It must be coming to the end of winter here in the North, that is making me a bit obsessed with citrus trees! If you like me, can taste the lovely freshness of the citrus, then you need some trees too!
The pair of trees are linocut reduction, this means that I cut away areas as I print the prints, that is, you start with cutting away your white areas, apply the first color, or in this case, the first colors, and then you cut away the lino where you want tose colors to stay. There is a lot of over printing in this linocut technique which makes for some beautiful passages of ink where the underlaying layers peek through, I love that, and work towards it! Once you have printed all the colors, the lino is so cut away that it is only to be kept as my "drawing" so to speak, I can't print from it again.
Edition: I only printed 6 of each print, so this is a tiny edition. They are all signed and numbered. You might not receive the number in the photo, but the 2 prints have the same numbers in the dition.
Size: Both are printed on a piece of warm white printmaking paper,
the papersize is 8" x 12" (20 cm x 30 cm)
with the printed area measuring 6" x 9.5" (15 cm x 24 cm)
They fit right into a standard frame as you can see in the photo,
both are sold unframed.
Shipping: I'll package them carefully in a reinforced envelope, on a piece of sturdy backing, so they arrive safely.
Just let me know if you would like them gift wrapped?
Thanks you for looking, you are so welcome with any questions!
All the best
