This is a multi-media urban sketch of the sculpture entitled "Celebration of Chester", standing in the square in front of Chester Town Hall and opposite Chester Cathedral.
True to the principles of urban sketching, I drew this entirely on location: early one sunny Saturday morning, after pondering the subject while I breakfasted on coffee and a delicious pain au raisin. A great way to start the day!
The paper is A4 grey Clairefontaine 250g/m2 (a very thick paper). The colours are truest on my screen in main image which is a scan of the drawing, while the others are photos.
