This black and white ink drawing of a carp is based on the preparatory drawing that I made for the miniature painting 'A Fleeting Thought'.
The carp swims towards the viewer, with a strong sense of movement and purpose, as if it will swim past in a flash and be gone.
The drawing is in a graphic, linear style, using cross-hatching to create light and shade.
It is in black, Parker, India ink on white, 300g/m² Hahnemühle, acid free watercolour paper.
