'Cargo Ship on River Test, Southampton'

I spent some time in Southampton specifically to paint the industrial landscapes around its rivers. I was very inspired by the views out across the River Test especially in late afternoon/evening when the sun came low over the water. This piece was painted shortly before sunset and looks to capture the exciting sheet of white light across the waters surface as a huge freighter passed through on its way to the sea.
