Original artwork description:

Standing in a night landscape, a woman and a tree are both holding precious light. Her hair rises upwards and left to the upper centre of the ainting, meeting the top branches.

Her gaze leads us across to the light-filled tree and I feel that this image is about the correlation between them. I have made the tree's main branches as if it were a large hand, cradling and cupping the moonlight within. The sphere of radiant light which she holds before her, diffuses onto her bodice and belly, flowing over her arms, outwards and behind her, off the edge of the image.

It is painted in acrylic layers and fine brushstrokes, on linen in my favourite colour combination of Phlato blue, Burnt Sienna and White; dated and signed bottom right 2016.

The image is continued around the edges of the canvas, so negating the need for a frame.
